YEAR 10 COURSE SELECTION DAY
By now, all parents or guardians of Year 10 students should have booked in for an appointment with a course counsellor on Thursday, 22nd August. However, there have only been about half the cohort make bookings. You can do this by contacting the Main Office. This day is a Year 10 student-free day so no classes will run for Year 10 students that day. Some of our teachers will be counselling students during these times: 10am – 12:45pm and 3:15pm to 5:45pm. The counselling session will take about 10 – 15 minutes, with a group of teachers from GOTAFE here as well to support the enrollment of students into VET courses. This is a very important day for all our Year 10 students as they will be finalising their selections for 2020.
2020 TRANSITION
Across all four schools there has been a focus on beginning the important process of transition. Eight different Transition teams, with each school represented, have designed tours and activities to address some of the concerns of those students moving to new campuses in 2020. Earlier this term there were three successful sessions held at McGuire, Mooroopna and Wanganui for students with disabilities. This week we have seen both Wanganui Park and Mooroopna host students from McGuire, Mooroopna and Shepparton High. These visits include guided tours of the new campus, to become familiar with the physical environment, as well as activities that assist in the formation of new friendships.

The first tour will commence at 9:45am and the second at 4:30pm.
Buses have been booked to collect those parents who do not drive or do not wish to drive.
Booking for the bus can be made through: https://www.trybooking.com/BEHNM or by ringing Mooroopna SC and speaking to the friendly office staff.
STUDENTS SIGNING OUT
The Department of Education are very clear about our duty of care when it comes to students leaving for appointments during the day. The process is this: 1. The students show their teacher a note from home with their reason for leaving early; 2. The student signs out electronically at the iPad kiosk at the Main Office; 3. A parent or guardian comes into the Main Office to sign the student out in the booklet provided. We are not permitted to let a student walk home on their own or just leave to catch a town bus during the day. We ask your assistance with this matter as a number of students are signing themselves out electronically then just leaving without proper authority.
