A very warm welcome from our School Captains

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to school! As you may know I am Olivia Wehbe, one of your two 2019 school captains. I hope everyone is settling down well after being on holidays for six weeks.

You may not know a lot about me, so i’d like to tell you about myself. Some of my hobbies and passions are, sport, gymnastics, arts and craft, writing and public speaking. I love being active and being apart of a team. It is just so fun and exhilarating running around, playing, having ago and getting to play all different types of sports or games. One of my favourite things in sport is probably running. I have always loved running since I was in prep. Mr Luckman has definitely helped me so much in many ways, pushing me to my full extent by teaching me different techniques. Driven by my passion for running, I actually even made my way through district cross country to divisions which was a big achievement for me.

A little bit more about me is that doing arts and craft makes me feel calm and creative. Recently I learnt how to sew, so now I love it. At first I was nervous to try because I thought it would be an epic fail, but if you ask for help and keep on persisting, in the end you will get it. I also really like writing, this is because it is a good way to express all my creativity. Since I am a really persuasive person, persuasive writing is definitely one of my favorites. One more thing is that I have a huge passion for public speaking because it makes me feel confident and allows me to fulfil my role as a leader.

Some of my qualities are that I am organised, responsible, passionate, enthusiastic, outgoing and caring. As I love helping people and am constantly inviting others to come play with me or making sure that they are okay. I will even go out of my way to make sure no one is fighting or disagreeing.

Overall I will have a go at anything and help anyone in need. I am over the moon to be school captain and are very excited to be your leader in 2019.

Some  of you may know me but if you don’t my name is Han Lu and I am one of your two 2019 School Captains of St Mary's.

I would like to tell you a bit about myself. Some of my hobbies are sports, arts and crafts, maths and cooking. I love cooking so much especially desserts like creme brûlée, sticky date pudding and more. Cooking keeps me calm and is really fun to do because I like to pretend that I am in MKR and my partner is my dad. I love learning a lot especially maths because I may not be the greatest at maths or the fastest at solving math questions but I still like to have a go at different types of maths like BIDMAS. Sometimes at first you think that something can be really difficult but you need to have a go and ask for help from your peers and teachers because that is what I do when u am stuck and need help, you should also remember the dispositions because they can help you get out of the pit.

I love sports so much because it keeps me active, I love being part of a team and working as a team. I love trying out different sports, having a go and participating in different sports, for example in Term 2 we did inter-school sport I didn’t get netball instead I got into the football team I thought I was going to be terrible at football but when I gave it a try and got coaching tips from Mr Luckman I was great at it and it turns out that I was really good for a first timer and in one of the matches that we won I think that I got MVP. I love playing different types of sports but what I most love doing is swimming. I love competing in any completions that includes swimming like triathlon, when I competed in triathlon I did my best and got fourth place, which I would never suspect to come in so it was a big achievement for me.

Some of my qualities are I am responsible, caring, organised, open-minded, willing and passionate. I love helping others, when someone is hurt I will be by their side to help them up and get a teacher if needed. I love taking risks in doing stuff that I have never done before and continually  inviting others to come and play with me. I will go above and beyond to help others when they need help.

I am so thrilled and excited  to be your school captain for 2019. Now we hope that you know a little bit more about your school captain for 2019.

We would like to give a warm welcome to the new adorable preps and their families! I hope that the new preps and their families are starting to get comfortable and familiar with St Mary's. St Mary's is very excited to have the new 2019 preps, as they will be Amazing!

Sadly there has been some teachers that have left but now we have new teachers. A big welcome to Miss Bethany who will be teaching 1/2B, Good Luck to Miss Bethany! If you are wondering we're the new 1/2 class will be it is in the old music room.  Last but not least we have Mrs Sophia a new integration aide.

These are some dates to remember. On the 10th of February there is going to be the opening of the end of year mass, when the leaders will be getting there badges. Plus the parish feast day and it will be followed by a fun day for the children and parents to enjoy. On the 18th February the parents can meet the teachers. Make sure to do your hair all pretty and look good on the 20th of march as it will be school picture day. One last reminder is for all the prep parents. Remember that for the first three Wednesdays the preps will have a day off. Lastly, you better get your cheering voices ready for the TWILIGHT SPORTS CARNIVAL! It will be commencing on the 29th march. GO LOURDES! GO MEDICI!

Sincerely,

Your School Captains

Olivia and Han
