From the Principal

I cannot believe that we are already in the month of June and only have a few weeks left of Term 2.  We still have plenty of activities happening in the next two weeks. The children have started rehearsing their songs and dances for the school concert next term.  We have also been listening to the Grade 5 and 6 students learning the ukulele as part of their music class. The Grade 3 students went to the museum yesterday as part of their inquiry topic.  The Grade 4 students have a StarTime incursion and the Grade 6 students will attend Scienceworks. The Grade 6 girls also have an AFL Gala Day to look forward to and the Foundation students have their alphabet dress up day on the last day of term.

Professional Practice Day - Pupil Free day -Wednesday 21st June

Parent teacher conferences will be held on this day via Webex from 1pm - 6:00pm.  Please book your appointment time through Compass.

Theircare will operate a Pupil Free Program on this day.  If you require this service, please book directly through TheirCare by Friday 16th June.  Bookings are essential to ensure staff ratios are correct.

Illness - cold, flu, COVID, gastro

The last few weeks of term are proving difficult to replace staff with agency teachers, due to the amount of illness across the area.  We are utilising as many internal staff as possible, however with the shortage of replacement staff we may have to split grades and cancel programs at some stage.

We appreciate that attendance is important, but if your child has symptoms and is unwell, please keep them at home, this will help stop the spread of colds and flu to other children and staff.

We have also had several COVID cases, so please still monitor/test for symptoms. If your child has COVID the recommendation is to stay away from school for 5 days, or longer if symptoms are still present.

Gastro – children are not to attend school until 48 hours after last bout of vomiting or diarrhoea.

Congratulations to our Aerobics teams who competed last weekend.  Rockin Robics placed 1st and Starburst placed 2nd.  Both teams will now compete at the Nationals which will be held in Adelaide in August.
