INTERNATIONAL WEEK

Our annual International Week will be held next week, Monday 22nd – Friday 26th May. This year, the theme focuses on ‘Supporting Others to Be Their Best’.

Students are encouraged to reflect on our school values, ‘Respect, Empathy, Teamwork and Ethic of Excellence’ as they consider how to bring out the very best in others around them. Our Democracy Wall in the Library will provide an opportunity for students to share their ideas; I encourage students to contribute to and learn from the ideas shared by students in our school.

A big thank you in advance to our school captains for putting the program together and to our SRC and Mr Chalk for once again, supporting the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) through our annual food drive. This year marks the 10th year of support to the ASRC during our International Week. It is difficult to determine how many people we have supported through our food drive, but it must be many. Thank you to all members of  our community for your contributions, both this year (in advance) and in previous years. We have in no doubt made a difference to many people’s lives.

Our canteen will provide International themed meals during the week and music, quizzes, and lunchtime activities are also on offer. Let’s make the most of the week, celebrate our multi-cultural community whilst considering and acting on this year’s theme;
