Performing Arts

During Term 2, Years 5 and 6 students will be participating in and rehearsing for the ‘Festival of the Sacred’. This is an incredible opportunity where students get to explore the elements of performing arts: music, drama and dance.

Students have the chance to work with the talented performers Laura and Monique from the Australian School of Performing Arts (ASPA). In preparation for their performance on 14th June, the students engage in sessions with the ASPA tutors where they practise the various songs and dances that they’ll be performing on the day.

On 15th May, the students had their second workshop and participated with full enthusiasm and respect. Students warmed up their voices with different activities, sang ‘O Sifuni Mungu’, ‘Gospel ship’ ‘When I grow up’, 'Acknowledgement to Country’ and practised the dances to ‘Like it or not’ and ‘Can't stop the feeling’.

Students are getting closer to their final performance on 14th June at the Kyabram Sports and Entertainment Centre and will continue to practise in their performing arts classes with Mrs Moor, Mrs Moore and Mrs Shannon.

Families and friends of our school community are invited to book free tickets for the final performance at trybooking.com/CHWPU
