2/3/4 Second Break (Lunch) Wednesday and Friday

Book Club

Book Club has been distributed to students. The closing date for this catalogue is 16th June 2023. Please order through LOOP on the Scholastic website.

Junior Librarians

It has been wonderful to hav Junior Librarians helping out in the library. These students come in before school, st recess and at lunch time. They are becoming skilled at returning and borrowing books, shelving and tidying up. They are excellent at helping younger students find books and reading with them. We are working on learning to cover books with contact - a challenge for us all. Well done Junior Librarians.

PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE

Congratulations to those students who have already completed the Premier's Reading Challenge! There is still plenty of time for everyone else to finish. Keep reading!

Remember to keep logging into the website and record the books you have read. The link to the website is included HERE.

Many of the Premiers Reading Challenge books are on SORA. If you look in collections you will see collections devoted to each section of the challenge.

Friday 18 August 2023 is the challenge closing date for student entries.

Getting started with Sora

With Sora, you can get free ebooks and audiobooks from your school.

Step 1 ______________________________________________________

Install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or go to soraapp.com.

Step 2______________________________________________________

In Sora, click on I have a setup code, then sign in.

Note: If you need your sign-in information (like an ID, username, or password), it is the same one you use to log into your chromebook. Ask you class teacher if you aren;t sure what this is.

Sign into your School – Select your school - ACEN

Step 3______________________________________________________

Browse the

tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading right away.

Step 4______________________________________________________

Close the book and go to

see all your books (including assignments). From there, you can:

Select Open book or Open audiobook to read or listen to the book.
Select Options to renew or return the book, see your notes and highlights, and more.

Premiers Reading Challenge Books can be found in Collections in folders marked NSW Premiers Reading Challenge K-2, NSW Premiers Reading Challenge 3-4, NSW Premiers Reading Challenge 5-6.
