Principal's Message

As we move towards the end of the term, we notice that some of the children are getting a bit tired. We've had a lot going on this term but we also notice that they are persisting and demonstrating that they have a "can-do" attitude. This term has been a short one and we only have three more weeks before our Winter holidays. I know the children can keep trying their hardest. We also welcome a new student to Bolinda Primary School this week. Abbie has started in the Junior classroom and our students have been making her feel very welcome.

Sustainability Presentations @ Newham

Our Sustainability Team had the opportunity to present at Newham Primary School, showcasing all the fantastic initiatives we have in place to help protect our environment.

The event brought together several schools from the Macedon Ranges region, each sharing their own remarkable sustainability efforts.

Our team represented Bolinda Primary School with immense pride and enthusiasm, highlighting the various projects and actions we have undertaken to reduce our ecological footprint. From waste reduction and recycling programs to energy-saving initiatives, we showcased the positive impact we are making every day. The event also provided a unique opportunity for us to learn from other schools in the region. We were thrilled to gather a whole range of innovative ideas that we can adapt and implement right here at Bolinda Primary School.

Interschool Sports - Softball

We were delighted with our softball team's recent participation in the Interschool Sports event on Tuesday, May 23. Our students showed remarkable determination, sportsmanship, and skill throughout the day. Their hard work, practice, and team spirit paid off, as they won every single game leading up to the final against Tylden.

Although the final result may not have been in our favor, our team's unwavering effort, teamwork, and competitive spirit were all that makes our school so special. Throughout the day, our students showed what fair play looks like, demonstrating respect for their opponents, officials, and each other. We are immensely proud of our Bolinda softball stars for not only their impressive on-field performance but also for being exceptional ambassadors of our school.

Thank you to Meryn and Justine for transporting the children on the day. It made life much easier.

Prep Information Session

Our Foundation Information Session was held on Monday, May 29th. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with prospective families and provide them with a glimpse into what makes Bolinda such a special place. Our school leaders took the stage, sharing their honest reflections on what they absolutely adore about Bolinda. They spoke with confidence and were sincere in their responses (even in front of so many unfamiliar faces). They spoke about the warm and nurturing environment, the strong sense of community, and the dedicated teachers who go above and beyond for their students.

I gave a brief overview of our school where I spoke about our students' achievements with their learning, our rich history, and the values that shape Bolinda. Foundation teacher, Anna Rapetti demonstrated her exceptional teaching techniques and the wonderful ways in which she engages with our youngest learners.

After the informative session, we toured the grounds and the families were very impressed with our library and commented on the wonderful space. We finished our tour off in the edible garden where parents noted how engaging the area looked. Overall, it was a terrific session that gave us a chance to show off our school.

Mud Kitchen

Recently, a former parent stumbled upon an incredible Mud Kitchen and thought of our school. Sharon picked it up and transported it to Bolinda so that our students could have something where their imaginations could run wild.

A big round of applause to Josh Ellis, who pressure-washed the Mud Kitchen to get it to the point that Sharon was able to paint it. Our Mud Kitchen is now out and about in our beautiful garden! It's a delightful addition that sparks creativity and imaginative play for our little chefs and explorers. We invite you all to come and have a look at the Mud Kitchen in our newly formed edible garden. We're hoping this space will create memories for our students for years to come.

School

Walking around the school during my yard duty has been an absolute pleasure, as I am greeted by the beautiful autumn weather we've been having. It is a joy to be out and about looking at our wonderful school grounds. Sharon has also planted some succulents, which were kindly donated to us by the Murphy family, beside the Junior classroom to transform that space into something with a bit of colour.

Compost

We're thrilled to share the fantastic news that our beloved school has received a generous delivery of compost from the Macedon Ranges Shire Council! Who could have imagined that compost would make us so excited?

In addition, we'd like to remind you that just two weeks ago, we celebrated International Compost Week. During that time, our dedicated team member, Sharon, reached out to the shire council to explore the possibility of supporting our school. The council delivered!  Literally. We're immensely grateful for their support and commitment to our sustainability efforts. Our dedicated sustainability team will be hard at work, spreading the compost throughout our gardens to enhance their vitality and promote green growth.

Whole School Surprise

As we approach the last day of this term, we are thrilled to announce a surprise event that will bring our entire school together for a memorable celebration. Be on the lookout for more information as we are preparing to unveil the details of this eagerly anticipated gathering.
