From the Principal
November continues to be cool and wet and we are especially thinking about our neighbours who are experiencing floods in their local community. Our school has offered access to our laundries and kitchens, and both the Campus2Community group and Year 12 students and staff have reached out to provide their support. It is through helping others that we demonstrate our Character Pillars of kindness and hope.
With water lying everywhere, there is increased mosquito activity. Have a read of the Spotlight On section to find out more about what we are doing to keep everyone safe.
Over the past few weeks we have had many important visitors to our school and it has been wonderful to showcase our amazing school and the innovative programs we are running. Go to Anson in Review to read more about who has visited our school and why.
Work has started on our storage shed on Lords Place which has been nearly 2 years in the making. It will have a number of compartments and will be used for bikes, scooters, disability equipment and gardening equipment. We have utilised every possible space in the school, so having a large shed for additional storage will be a bonus.
A group of our students has been rehearsing for Schools Spectacular and we can't wait to see them performing next week. Have a look at What's Happening to see pictures and read about their journey. I thank the staff who have accompanied the students to Sydney each week, especially when they were held up from getting home on time by the Bathurst floods this week and minor bus troubles. It will be great to finally have our new ROSA bus in early December.
Moving forward, parents/carers wanting NDIS service providers to come to our school to see your child/ward will need to email a request through to the school.
The last 20 days of school will pass very quickly and will be full of activity. Teachers are finalising reports, grad preparations are underway, student leaders for 2023 will be chosen, certificates and awards will be presented at our Presentation Day ceremony and the Orange Ex-services Club will put on a Christmas party for our students and I hear Santa will be dropping in. So much to look forward to.
Hoping for warmer weather soon and sending our thoughts, love and support to all who are struggling with the recent flood disaster in the Central West.
