Election Day: Bakers and sausage flippers - we need YOU!

CPS is a polling location for the upcoming state election on Saturday, 26th November.  This means we will have a lot of people coming through our gates!  We are once again running BBQ and cake stall fundraisers on the day.

These events are amazing fundraising opportunities for our school.  At the federal election in May, we raised over $4,000 (and satisfied a lot of hungry tummies) in just 8 hours!  But it does take many hands to make it happen.

Can you spare an hour and a half between7:30am - 4:30pm to help set up, pack up, cook or sell food?

And / or bake some biscuits, cupcakes, loaf, slice or other goodies that we can sell at the cake stall?

Donations of baked goods can be delivered to the hall kitchen between 3:30 - 4pm on Friday, 25th November.  Please provide a list of all ingredients used, and clearly name any containers / plates to be returned. No cream or other items requiring refrigeration please.

Please pop your name down to bake or BBQ, at https://signup.com/go/wHReUqz.

Thank you!

PFA Sushi Day - Thurs 17th Nov - orders now open

A PFA Sushi Fundraiser Day will be held on Thursday 17th November and orders are now open in Qkr.  Sushi days are a great fundraising initiative, supported by local Carnegie business owner Ming, from the Carnegie Central (Koornang Rd) Woolworths Sushi section.

Remember - visit Chef Ming on weekdays during term 4 and show the newsletter or Qkr! app to let him know you are a CPS family (or staff member) to enjoy $5 chicken, tuna and vegetarian twin pack handrolls, as well as 20% discounts on all ten piece medium rolls.

How / where do I order?

When ordering, please make sure you do so through the ‘PFA Fundraising & Events’ Menu in Qkr, rather than the regular lunch order menu.

When do orders close?

Orders can be placed in Qkr until midnight on Tuesday 15th November.

Can I cancel my order?

If necessary, orders can also be cancelled up until midnight on Tuesday 15th November - see instructions on page 4 of the Qkr guide on the school website for help with cancelling an order. You will receive a credit in Qkr that can be applied to future PFA purchases.   Unfortunately in the event that students are absent on sushi day, and the order hasn’t been cancelled in Qkr by the cut off time, we are unable to offer a refund.

If you can help out with Sushi Day on 17th November, please pop your name down at https://signup.com/go/wHReUqz.

Thank you for your understanding and constant support!

Icypole Fridays

Icypole Friday is back this Friday - 11th November.

Please send $1 with your child if they would like to buy an icypole.  Students in Prep, Grade 1 or Grade 2 should give their money to their teachers in the morning.  Students in Grades 3 - 6 can come to the Hall after the second lunch bell to buy their icypole.

If you can help out with Icypole Friday from time to time, please pop your name down at https://signup.com/go/wHReUqz.

Save the Date - End of Year Picnic - 14th December

All CPS families and staff are invited to celebrate the end of the school year at our much loved school picnic.  We are awaiting final confirmation of a permit from the Glen Eira Council to use the space, but please save the date - more details to follow closer to the time.

When: Wednesday 14th December

Time: 4:30 - 7pm

Where: Koornang Park

What: BYO picnic blankets, chairs and food, and enjoy an informal end of year celebration with other school families.

It’s beginning to look a lot like … December!

We are working again with our cherry farmer and Bakers Delight Carnegie, and hope to be able to bring you delicious cherries and tarts again this year - watch this space for more information!

In the past CPS have also run a Christmas tree order service.  This year we are encouraging families to seek out opportunities to purchase their tree directly through a local club / charity / service.  Here are a few we know of - please let us know if there are others that can be shared with the community.
