2023 Enrolment

From Kate Doyle, Student Administration
If you have a child required to commence school in 2023, please submit an enrolment form as soon as possible.
Enrolments for siblings of existing students
A Prep in 2023 will need to have turned five by 30 April 2023. If you already have a child at NMPS who will be continuing with us in 2023, any younger sibling who lives at the same permanent address can be enrolled at NMPS regardless of whether or not the family is still residing in our area.
New enrolments & boundary changes
For all other new enrolments, you will need to confirm that the student’s permanent address is within our designated neighbourhood area. This can be checked at Find My School and on our website. Please be aware that the Department of Education and Training’s designated neighbourhood boundaries have recently changed in our area. Therefore all new families, and existing families who will no longer have an older child at NMPS in 2023, will need to ensure they are enrolling their child in their correct neighbourhood school.
Are you leaving NMPS?
Just as important as keeping track of our new students enrolling, we also need to know about our students who are leaving. If you have a child currently in Preps to Year 5 who will be moving to a new Primary School in 2023 can you please send us an e-mail to north.melbourne.ps@education.vic.gov.au. noting your child’s name, when their last day of school will be at North Melbourne Primary School and the school they will next be attending. If it is another Victorian Government School there are processes that are required for the transfer of students.
Extended absence in 2023
We also need to be advised if your child is going on an extended family holiday and won’t be here for either the end of this school year and/or start of the new 2023 school year. If this is the case, can you please add an attendance note in Compass specifying the first and last day of your child’s absence. Alternatively you can e-mail north.melbourne.ps@education.vic.gov.au advising the child’s name and specify the dates they will be absent.
