Prep Transition Program

Our Prep Transition sessions are in full swing with around 80 students attending last Friday. The 2023 Prep team reported all students were really settled and enjoyed their first morning at North Melbourne Primary School.

Our next Transition session is this Friday 25th November, followed by two additional dates on Friday 2nd December and Tuesday 13th December. We look forward to welcoming all 2023 Prep students back to NMPS on these dates.

Our Parents & Friends Association will be holding a Welcome morning tea for new Prep families on Friday 2nd December, while the students are in their third transition session. Please refer to email updates for more information on this morning tea.

Not Returning in 2023?

If you are not returning to NMPS in 2023 we need to know. Please contact the office ASAP as this impacts all 2023 planning. This does not refer to students who are currently in Year 6.

Staffing in 2023 & Whole School Transition Day

We know that parents/carers and students are always keen to see the teaching arrangements for the new school year, however in the current climate we are still working through staffing for 2023. We hope to have this finalised in the next couple of weeks. 

Students will have an opportunity to find out their 2023 teacher and class on our Whole School Transition Day on Tuesday 13th December. 

Swimming Program

On Monday our Prep to Year 2 and Year 5 students headed off to North Melbourne Pool for their first swimming lessons of the year. Although it was more like a Winter’s day and classes were cancelled half way through due to the ever changing weather there were lots of excited students who greeted us on the gate on Tuesday morning knowing they were swimming again!

The Prep to Year 2 and Year 5 students will swimming in Week 8 and Week 9 before our Year 3 to Year 6 students (excluding Year 5) begin their program on Monday 5th December.

Baby News

We would like to send our congratulations and warm wishes to Nurse Jen and her husband, Will, as they welcomed baby Andre Luca into the world on 12.11.2022. Jen is doing well and enjoying every single moment of motherhood. We are excited to welcome yet another addition to our NMPS family. 

Molesworth Street Campus Update

Unfortunately, the VSBA information session next Wednesday 30th of November will not go ahead as planned. The VSBA will look to reschedule this in Term 1, 2023 and I look forward to seeing you then. The VSBA will look to answer any questions through the their project page soon or you can contact them directly at vsba@education.vic.gov.au

Election Day – Saturday 26th November

Our school will once again be used as a voting centre this Saturday 26th November. 

The North Melbourne Rotary Club will be holding an election BBQ on the day.
