Year 6 Confirmation

On the 23rd of October the Year 6s from OLHC, HT and SFX celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation with their sponsors and their families.

Confirmation marks the final sacrament of initiation into the Church. The Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation, welcome us into the Church family. These sacraments help us to grow in friendship with Jesus. The Sacrament of Confirmation invites us to play a bigger part in the life of the Church. In this sacrament we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. It confirms the gifts of the Holy Spirit given to us at Baptism – wisdom, understanding, right judgement, courage, knowledge, reverence and wonder and awe. When we love Jesus the gifts of the Holy Spirit begin to change us. These changes are called the fruits of the Holy Spirit. They are spiritual fruits – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control.

The Year 6 students have engaged in a range of reflective and creative activities at school and at home to learn about Confirmation.

Please keep these children in your prayers.

A HUGE THANK YOU and GOD BLESS to all parents, care givers, teachers, learning support staff, parish staff and sponsors for helping the children prepare for their confirmation.
