P to the E with Leigh

Dear Parents/Carers, What a wet start to the term. I think I have postponed and cancelled more events this year than any year I have been teaching, which is 21 years if you’re interested.

This term the 4/5/6s have been playing other schools in Inter school sport with the summer sports of Cricket, Rounders, Bat Tennis and Softball.

Congratulations to the girls’ basketball team who have qualified as the best team in the District and Metro.

Congratulations to the students who competed in athletic events through this term with a particular mention of Perry Tansley and Noah Harmer who competed in the metropolitan athletics carnival with Perry finishing mid field and Noah coming third in the high jump.

I would like to encourage parents with children who are interested in running to seek out athletic clubs as they provide expert coaching and training. Coburg club also supports children from Neuro Diverse backgrounds in its program. I would also like to recommend Oakover martial arts as a great club for children struggling with coordination and body balance.

The foundation children have really settled now and are ready to transition to grade one as their skills and balance have improved.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who have contributed and helped out through the year with sporting events and activities.

I have one request if anyone knows a bike mechanic/layperson who would like to work on the bikes that we have borrowed from Bell Primary for our bike ed program …its paid if you could contact me. Also anyone who has a solution to storing the bikes safely in the school that would also be helpful. I am beginning to plan a bike education program and would love to get it up and running before the end of the year.

Thanks Everyone
