Foundation–Celebrating Learning

Foundation Mainstream

This term, Foundation students have become authors! We are getting ready to use the writing process in Grade 1, so we are beginning to plan stories, edit our drafts, and write all different kinds of text types. We have already learned to create recounts, procedures, and information reports, and in the coming weeks we will be learning to write our own narrative stories and write letters. Part of becoming an author is also building writing stamina and being able to add detail to our writing. The most important part of being an author, however, is having big and exciting ideas! The Foundation teachers are really enjoying reading everything that our students have to write, and we hope you do too.

Foundation Steiner

Foundation Steiner have kicked off the term with some AMAZING learning.

They have been experimenting with writing their own sentences. They have been using their knowledge of letter-sound relationships and heart words to have a go at their own creations. This has included recount writing, silly sentences, stories and letters.

In numeracy we have been exploring sharing number stories and what it means to share fairly or equally.
