Grade 1/2

Poetry:

Grade 1 and 2 students have been enjoying creating their own poetry books the last few weeks. Here are some WONDERFUL front cover designs and poems! They have learnt the structure and features of Acrostic, Shape, Colour and Sense Poems so far. There are many more types to learn including Haiku and Cinquain.

Author's Study:

1D and 2SB enjoyed making their own stick man from Julia Donaldson's book during our Author's Study unit. 

3D Shapes and Fractions:

Grade 1 and 2's have been learning about the names of 2D and 3D shapes. 

They have also learnt how to shade, draw and write fractions such as halves and quarters and many more. Here are some shape characters and fraction caterpillars.

Transition: 

On Monday afternoon the current Preps and Grade One students spent some time asking questions about Grade 1 and 2 next year. They got to know each other by sharing a book together.
