Teaching and Learning in 1W

This term in Week 2 we had our swimming program. Despite the very early start, everyone really enjoyed themselves and learned some new things. We learned what to do if you need help in the water. Thank you to the parents who came along on the bus or met us at the swimming pool, we could not have done it without you.

We have been looking at the different types of texts and learning the difference between fiction and non fiction texts. We have been exploring persuasive texts and the techniques used by authors and illustrators to convince us of things.  We then wrote our own persuasive piece of writing about swimming and why it is important.

With Mr Burridge we have been learning about facial expressions, body language and non-verbal communication. We will continue to practice our interpersonal skills for the remainder of this term.

We have made the most of some of the rainy days and engaged in some fun lunchtime sensory activities including kinetic sand and play dough, as well as some literacy activities on the iPads and viewing some new books.
