Staff vs Student

Our sporty staff took up the challenge of two lunchtimes of sport against our Open Volleyball and Open Netball teams.  It was a great opportunity to test the skills of our best teams.

Volleyball was first up and, with the staff taking a huge loss in 2021, our teachers were back with vigour this year.  While the opening points of the game were all for the students, the staff team pulled together to run home with an almost twenty-point win.  Some great displays of skill were shown by both sides and the San Damiano filled.

Our Open netball team is preparing for QISSN over the school holidays and they made a formidable team with Ms Tamara Richardson as coach.

The students took an early lead and ran circles around a stunned staff team.  However, as the staff started to come together the scores were levelled and went point for point.  At the end of time, it was a 13- all draw.  The students challenged the staff to a two-minute overtime and again looked to take the win, but a last-minute comeback allowed the staff to score two quick points and take the win 15-14.  There are calls for a rematch once the staff have recovered.
