Reconciliation Week Celebration

Last Wednesday, 1 June, Xanthe Browning, Tanna-Lai Hornung, Eve McColl and Grace Wilkin represented the College at the Brisbane Catholic Education Reconciliation Week Celebration. Hosted by Saint Augustine’s College, Augustine Heights, students explored the significance of national Reconciliation by defining the concept and identifying how it looks – and could look – in our College community.

The students constructed a bridge that named some of the barriers and enablers to Reconciliation and represented Mount Alvernia’s commitment to healing and the celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures. I extend my appreciation to Xanthe, Tanna-Lai, Eve and Grace for their enthusiastic and thoughtful involvement in the day.
