Vanessa Hamilton, presenter of ‘Talking the Talk’, discussed the importance of talking to your children about human sexuality, consent, and respectful relationships – and the importance of starting the conversation.

Our FPS parent community now has free access to Vanessa’s Virtual Classroom – which provides parents with a wide range of resources to help support these discussions. 

For parents who were unable to attend the parent seminar, Vanessa has a pre-recorded video where she covers the topics that were discussed. You will also be able to access a parent e-book, and Vanessa’s extensive list of resources.

Continuing Sexuality, Consent, & Respectful Relationship Education

We are very excited to start our long-term involvement in sexuality, consent, and respectful relationships partnership with Vanessa. Our staff will work with Vanessa as she helps build their capacity to deliver human sexuality, consent, and respectful relations education using her Virtual Classroom. Teachers will learn how to deliver age-appropriate lessons will be based on:

• Healthy & respectful relationships
• Body & protective safety
• What Is normal early childhood sexual behaviour
• How babies are made and born
• Puberty preparation
• Internet safety and our sexualised society 

Once staff have completed their training, we will begin the process of rolling out 'Talking The Talk, Healthy Sexuality Education’ starting with the Year 5 & 6 cohort towards the end of term three.
