Congratulations to Talia Appleton

Over the holidays she participated in the Junior U19 Tour of the Tropics in Far North Queensland.

A 4 day National stage race. 

Talia won the Time Trial Stage and finished a strong second in the final Criterium in Cairns.

She was also able to finish 2nd alongside Senior Open Riders on stage 2. An exceptional performance to ride with the professionals and finishing 10 minutes ahead of the main junior U19 peloton.  

This resulted in Talia finishing 2nd in GC only 21 seconds behind the eventual winner.

For those who know cycling this is a very close finish in a multi stage cycle race.

This outstanding performance gained Talia selection into the Australian UCI Junior World Championship Team. 

Talia will race for Australia in the World Championships in Wollongong NSW during September in a few months time.  

Congratulations on your performance on the Tour of the Tropics and good luck at the World Championships.
