Charity Bash

Hi All,

It’s Mark, the maintenance man around the school. Just a short note to let you know that I will not be around for a couple weeks. You may have seen my Bash car parked out the front of the school on Tuesday 9th Aug. For the last 12 months or so we have been raising money for Variety, the Children’s Charity. Helping kids with special needs.

On Tuesday 16th Aug I will be starting the 30th Annual Vic Variety Bash. We will be travelling from Melbourne Showgrounds via some iconic places such as Beechworh, Broken Hill and Birsdville, to name a few before arriving in Cairns on Friday 26th Aug.

In 2019, the last time the Vic Variety Bash ran, due to Covid we raised over $1.5,000,000 with approx. 85 cars when we travelled From Melbourne to Geraldton across the Nullabor, this year we are hoping to beat that total with 115 plus cars entered. All cars in the Bash must be older than 30yrs, my car is a 1975 450 SE Mercedes sedan, my team mates car is 1976 HJ Holden Statesman.

Our theme this year is spread over the 2 cars, my car will be a female team, including my wife and friends dressed as Angels, the car I will be in, all male car dressed as Devils. Hoping you can follow our adventure on Facebook page, The men of Car 9, Variety Bash.

If you wish to donate to a great cause, please follow the link to our page, or come and see me on Monday 15th before I leave.
