Kings Park Campus Principal Message
Campus Principals’ Report - Kings Park
June 2022
Year 7 and 8 student Headspace presentations (30 to 31st May)
Wonderfully run sessions where the students were learning and working together. In the photos they are looking at what it means to be an up-stander and not a bystander. Thank you to our Wellbeing Team and Ms Ghazale for organising this.
Cross Country (May 20)
Action shot!
Thank you to Ms Brookshaw and the Kings Park PE department for supervising and organising the cross country run this year. Stand out competitors were Dorian French and Lyel Dao.
Campus Assembly
We had a Campus Assembly on Friday May 20. The student musical performances led by Mr Allen and Mr Breen were exceptional (as usual). The Assembly was an excellent celebration of student achievement with a student from each homegroup awarded a RRR award and we finished with celebrating all students with 100% attendance in term 1. One of these students from each level won a gift card which was a big surprise! Thank you to our SRC and Student Leaders who ran the assembly with the assistance of Mr Goundar.
Building Works
Vision impairment facility improvements
The work to demolish and reinstate compliant stairs with railings and tactile ground surface indicators has been mostly completed. All poles have the necessary highlights and all paths have been marked along the edge as recommended in the school environment assessment report. We have completed the works for the outdoor music performance area.
Heating has been an issue this term
We have repaired some of the existing boilers and we are replacing the irreparable administration boiler with multiple split systems this week.

NAPLAN and Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS)
Thank you to Ms Ghazale and Mr Simpson for organising NAPLAN this year. They ably led staff through quite a complicated process!
They are also chasing students to complete AtoSS. The survey ‘window’ was extended until June 17 this year because of the high numbers of student and staff illnesses across the state.
Music Concert June 9
We are looking forward to the music concert coming up on Thursday night this week.
Students and staff are working very hard to bring this together.

Year 9 and 10 Pathways Info Evening May 23
Families were invited to Delahey to hear important information about the Senior Year Program. This will support students and families as they make subject choices and consider career pathways.
COVID Update
We are still having a small number of positive cases and close contacts reported. We are continuing to deliver packs of 5 RAT kits to every student fortnightly at our campus. This will continue in Term 2.
