Smart Schools

Copperfield College Delahey has joined smart schools.

The reason being that the industry is moving forward with climate action and students need to understand how to navigate the working world.

Taking action, the senior campus has begun a progression towards educating young adults in the classroom via the curriculum, so they can put it into practise from the classroom in the real world prior to leaving school.

Food classes are no longer giving out plastic packaging and are transitioning to paper plates and bags only by 2023.

Thank you for your support.

SWL Placements

All VCAL students doing a VET subject in Year 11 and 12 should now have a Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) Placement in their relevant field or be working toward having their placement secured and starting in the very near future.

On-site and remote student placement visits have been happening weekly and the reports coming in from employers are outstanding! Our students are arriving on time, appropriately dressed, asking all the right questions and working to an extremely high standard. Well done to you all!

If you are still looking for a placement, please ensure you ask all of your personal contacts. These can be parents, family members, church members, football or soccer coaches and families, neighbours etc. Join local Community Facebook groups and advertise there what you are seeking, come to the Careers Office and look through the Employer List or try the SWL Statewide Portal by logging on to https://workplacements.education.vic.gov.au/

Pictured is Alana Camilleri of Year 11 and Marielle Tapat or Year 12. Alana is completing her first year of VET Kitchen Operations and her placement is at Switch Watergardens. Marielle is completing her second year of VET Community Services and her placement is at Sydenham-Hillside Primary School. Both students are representing themselves and their school to a very high standard and they are enjoying their placements immensely.
