Book Week  August 8 - 12

Our focus this year for book week is “Dreaming with eyes open…” with a multilingual focus: this acknowledges Australia's First Nations People and their rich story-based culture. We have created some wonderful teaching activities that our students will love. It is a week of showing appreciation for our favourite books and dressing up like the characters that take us along on their adventures with them. Staff and students are encouraged to come to school dressed in their favourite storybook character.

During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. Some of the things we will be focusing on during Book Week will be creating colourful displays, being involved in reading, and writing workshops by Australian and international authors, running competitions such as poetry, book cover and writing, debates and telling stories relating to the theme to highlight the importance of reading.
