VCE/VCAL

This week the college held its first Careers Expo in three years. St John’s Regional College students were extremely fortunate to be able to begin their term in such a focused and informative manner. A huge thanks must be extended to all the staff who helped coordinate, facilitate and prepare for the evening. Students were able to engage with experts in a range of fields and from a number of tertiary and further training institutions. The information given at the evening will no doubt provide a wealth of insight for Year 12 students and families as they prepare to apply to VTAC later this term.

Students currently in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 will spend next week looking at their subject selections for next year. Each year level will attend an important assembly which will outline the process and possibilities available. At the conclusion of each assembly the subject selection portal will open so that students can begin to make their selections. Students will also be provided with a Curriculum Handbook so that they can make informed decisions about their electives. It is important that all students are aware that the cut off date for selections is Monday August 8th. This is a firm deadline as the selections form vital data and help the college determine next year’s program.
