Today is a great day to be you!

Resilience and eSmart Day

On the final day of term - Friday June 24th - we are holding our next big whole school celebration day! It’s our RRRR (Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships) and eSmart Day - and we are asking all students to dress up as SUPERHEROES! These superheroes could be the regular ones we all know; Wonderwoman, Superman, Hulk, etc… or alternatively, we’d like our students to also think of the ‘everyday heroes’ who make hugely valuable, but sometimes unnoticed, contributions to everyday society. Our nurses, firefighters… even teachers!

The day is sure to be a lot of fun - we will begin with a whole school assembly at approximately 9:15am (hopefully outside if the weather is nice to us!), which will include some special guests and a costume parade. This will also act as our ‘end of term’ assembly to farewell the students at the end of another great term. Between recess and lunch, classes will complete some resilience/eSmart activities with their buddies, before finishing the day in their own classes after lunch until the 2:30pm early finish.

I’ve been reliably informed that the Principal team is fully expected to set the standard with costumes here, so time to find my own ‘inner superhero’...

Year 6 Camp

What a week! When we talk about engagement with school, excursions and camps play a huge role - and our Year 6s really embraced every moment of it! Despite the cold, rainy conditions all week, I was so proud of the ‘can do’ attitudes on display from all of the students.

The Summit Camp was all about ‘becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable’ and the activities on offer really pushed our students (and staff!) out of their comfort zones. Growth mindsets were on display all week; students were willing to have a go, make a mistake, get uncomfortable and learn from it to improve their next attempt. Activities such as the giant swing, abseiling, summit window (leaning back over the edge of a 40m tower), nail walk, high ropes… and to top it all off, the daunting mud run. All of our students no doubt came home exhausted, but they should so proud of themselves for the things they achieved across the week.

What I was able to observe over the course of the week was genuine care for one another, encouragement and support, leadership and teamwork. This is a tight–knit group of kids; new friendships were formed, and this experience is one they’ll share and talk about for a long time to come!

I can’t wait to see what our camps bring for our Year 3s, 4s and 5s later this year!

Rangeview Working Bee

With the consistent wet weather we’ve had recently, the grounds need a bit of love! We are inviting all Rangeview community members to join us for our next Working Bee - Saturday July 16th from 9am-12pm. It’s at the end of the first week of term 3. If you are able to even join us for an hour during this time, we would appreciate any assistance possible!

The chicken shed requires some repairs, along with spreading lots of new soft fall around playgrounds and garden beds, and general gardening, wedding and cleaning. We will have a free sausage sizzle for lunch for any attendees… and there might also be icy poles for the students who come along and help out their school!

Please add this date to your calendar. We look forward to another great community-led event to help keep our school looking beautiful!

The Resilience Project

Today’s presentation from The Resilience Project is all about Mindfulness.

Mindfulness is our ability to be calm and present at any given

moment.

We practise this by slowing down and concentrating on one thing at a

time.

Thousands of studies have proven benefits include reduced stress, reduced rumination,

increased memory, increased cognitive function and physical health benefits through improved immunity.

Mindfulness can be practised through meditation, yoga, flow-states and daily everyday activities, such as cooking.
