Level 3/4

It’s been a very busy and productive couple of weeks in Levels 3 and 4! 

In Literacy, Level 3’s begun their unit of work on Poetry and the learning taking place is extraordinary. Level 4 students have also been exploring poetry, focusing on different types of poetry including: shape, haiku and cinquain. During Reading sessions, Level 3 and 4 students have been learning about making inferences based on prior knowledge as well as text clues. In addition to making inferences, Level 4 students have been experimenting with figurative language including: onomatopoeia, hyperbole, personification and idioms. In Mathematics students in Level 3 have been learning about time and division. Level 4 students have also been learning about time, as well as exploring angles and lines. Please head over to the Mathematics page to learn more about how we teach the importance of growth mindset and how this supports mathematical thinking and learning.  

Students in Level 3 and 4 have completed their group designs and have begun building their ‘Dream Community’. Our classrooms are full of various building materials, and we are proud of the collaborative approach adopted by our students to complete the build. We can’t wait to show our families the completed communities during our Student Led Conferences.  

Level 4 students have been investigating the validity and credibility of information they read and see online during their E-Smart sessions.
