Friend-o-Leaders in Training

We are launching a peer mentorship model, where a group of Year 5 students will support the younger students in their friendships at lunch time. These students will be known as

Friend-o-Leaders!

On Tuesday we held our first training session. Our Friend-o-Leaders discussed our whole-school friendship strategy and reviewed Friendology. We particularly focusing on the core concepts:

  • The 4 Friendship Facts
  • The Friend-o-Meter
  • Putting out Friendship Fires
  • Using Quick Comebacks to respond to Mean-on-Purpose behaviour

Our Friend-o-Leaders are looking forward to getting out in the yard and helping children to put out their friendship fires.

Friendology in Foundation

Our Foundation students are learning how to become ‘Friendship Ninjas’ through the URStrong Friendology program. They have learnt how to be their own BFF, the 4 Friendship Facts, how to be a super introducer, what Green Zone and Red Zone friendships look like, and now, how to put out their own ‘Friendship Fires’.

This little area provides our kiddos with a safe place to ‘talk it out, until the fire is out.’
