School Wide Positive Support Behaviour (SWPBS)

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support continues to be the framework that underpins our Wellbeing programs at Great Ryrie and Video Peer Modelling (VPM) videos are a tool that we use to efficiently deliver our SWPBS initiatives. (See our latest example featuring Foundation B at the link on the bottom of this page)

A VPM is a video that has been made as an exemplar, where students model the expected behaviours in a specific setting at school. This video can be played repeatedly to remind students of what’s expected.

Recently our whole school was involved in creating a VPM about expected behaviour at school assemblies and during Term 2 each of our year levels created a video in response to a need at their level. Teachers discussed with the students in their classes what behaviours from our matrix that the students felt they could improve on. They then discussed what it ’looks, feels and sounds like’ when that behaviour is being followed well. Each level then created a VPM modelling that behaviour which will be used going forward to help address their identified behaviour issues.

Foundation B and Miss Edmondson created a VPM - ‘We are respectful when we are focused listeners’. Take a look at this link to see them doing an amazing job of modelling great behaviour …
