Staffing News
The college welcomes back from Maternity leave Mrs Natahlia Bryant. Mrs Bryant will be teaching Mrs Godden’s classes for the remainder of the year. We congratulate Mr Peter Iuso on the successful completion of his professional placement experience and look forward to him returning to the college in the near future. Indiana Diss (Dux of 2021) has been working with Stage 6 students in English and HSIE class as a tutor. Thank you Indy for this work. Congratulations to Mrs Carrie Madden and Mr Harry Vella who recently received their Proficient Accreditation status from NESA.
Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews
Reports for Years 7 - 11 were released via the COMPASS portal on Wednesday 22/6/2022 to both parents and students. Parent Teacher Conferences provided an opportunity to discuss any concerns regarding learning progress or work habits. Staff who have a concern about a student and who did not get an interview request from parents will ring early next term to discuss improvement strategies and steps.
Year 12 News
Most HSC courses are in the final weeks of learning new material. Attendance in classes is critical during this time. A personalised Trial HSC Examination timetable has been given to students. A copy of the overall timetable is linked here. Year 12 students are reminded that if they are unwell, a phone call to the college or email to bmartin1@arm.catholic.edu.au from their parent/s is expected before the start of the examination and a medical certificate MUST be presented upon return to school and attached to the blue ‘Application for Extension of or Special Consideration for an Assessment Task’ which is available from the office.
Year 11 News
Holidays are an important time to recharge and catch up for next term. End of year 11 exams will occur at the end of Term 3.
Year 10 Advanced Notice
Early in Term 3 Year 10 students will begin the process of subject selection for Year 11 and Year 12. Students will be provided with a course prospectus, detailing the subjects that the college may offer for study in 2023/4. Year 10 students are encouraged to reflect upon their reports with their parents and teachers. Areas of success should be identified, strengths as a learner in particular subject areas, as well as focusing on correcting some concerns.
Creative and Performing Arts
The last two weeks have been a busy time for our Music and Drama students with many individual and group performances in the Tamworth Eisteddfod. Ms Swan, Mr McNeil and Ms Sawtell have all been working tirelessly to prepare students for their performances and accompanying them to the various locations. Congratulations to all staff and students involved.
