Year 8 and 9 Trials will both be at Oxford Falls on Saturday 3rd September:
Students who cannot attend the trial must present a note to Mr Gibson explaining their absence. Mr Gibson will speak to individuals who are absent about their opportunity to trial.
Please note that there are only five teams for Year 9 in the upcoming ISA competition. Some students who played in Year 8 will miss out along with others who trial. The trials will be run by Professional external coaches who will select the teams. The final selections will be published after all students have trialled.

With the first competition matches of the new season just three weeks away, SPX Cricket has had a great response to its call for players this year. Thank you to everyone who registered. Dear Parents and Players,
Commiserations to the 15Bs, 3rds and 2nd XI who all went down in close grandfinals on Saturday at Oakhill. All boys represented their College with pride and played with tremendous heart and spirit.
A reminder about the Football Presentation Evening at 7pm, Wednesday 31st August in the College Gym.

SPX COLLEGE FOOTBALL CLUB
A lot of heartbreak in the Grand Finals last week with two of the three teams losing in a penalty shootout after a closely fought tied game while our other team went down 0-1. While not the College's most successful year, all the boys are to be congratulated for their sportsmanship and enthusiasm.
The Football Committee thanks all the staff, coaches , parents and boys for making 2016 a great season.
The Committee will be having a review in coming weeks on how it can assist in advancing Football at the College and we invite any parents with comments or ideas as to where the Football Club could direct its attention or funding next season, to email us at footballspx@gmail.com or attend our next general meeting.
The Committee is already looking at increasing the number of specialist coaches available to team coaches and finalising a ‘full time’ goalie coach.
If there are any parents with team photos that they have not sent through please email them to footballspx@gmail.com as soon as possible. We need them to complete the ‘Year in Review’ publication to be distributed next week.

Last Saturday saw the Final of this season’s ISA Tennis competition. Despite good performances by many of our teams throughout the season, only Division 8 made it through to battle against a St Pat’s team, who proved to just be too strong on the day. Well-deserved congratulations go to Zachary Bull, Tate Fitzgerald, Jackson Carrall and Nick McKenzie for the sportsmanship, camaraderie and positivity they displayed throughout the season.
