From the College Principal

This week I have had the opportunity to observe learning in action on both campuses. Displays are appearing in learning spaces celebrating examples of exemplary student work and a sense of teamwork and mateship is observed as small groups of students share equipment and spaces both inside and out.

As mentioned on Facebook this week, I have had the pleasure of shooting hoops with a group of primary students who displayed their skills with the ball and their willingness to include all-comers.  The shooting, dribbling and even the odd reverse pivot and through the legs was obvious in the sparkling eyes, broad smiles and some cheeky moves in trying to steal the ball and check my shots. I had to dig deep, take up a defensive position, shuffle backwards and even pulled out a drop-step to effectively change direction. I had a great time and so did the kids.

School Council elections are open and I would urge you to consider joining Council, representing the families in our community and influencing school decisions and policies. Self-nomination forms are available from the administration office. We need you, it's your school.

I encourage all families to talk to their children about being safe, reminding them to regulate their behaviour, accept responsibility for their actions and the importance of being kind to others.  Physical violence will not be tolerated and serious consequences will be enforced. Please encourage your children to seek assistance from adults if they do not feel comfortable. Cyber safety is also important, so again teach your children to be active and safe.

Thank you for all your efforts in getting uniform sorted, sorting school charges and being patient as we try to sort some unexpected staff changes.  Please ensure the correct (black) shoes are being worn at all times, as per our uniform policy. We wish Michelle and Jennie all the best as they take some leave.

I hope you have a delightful weekend and have some fun.
