St Joseph's Day Celebrations

What a wonderful day the St Joseph's School community had last week!  Thank you to all who were able to join with us for any part of the day.  A beautiful quote from one of our students, last Friday, reminds us of the importance of these opportunities:  this day and the activities has made me want to smile all day!  Special thanks goes to Fr Vince for the lovely Mass,  Sr Therese Conroy RSJ who kindly joined us for Mass and morning tea,  Mrs Lee, Mrs Hird, Mrs Marheine and Mrs Dillon who provided delicious food for lunch, and to all the families, friends and students (especially Year 6) for your participation and enthusiasm throughout the day!

Prayer to St Joseph

Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,

Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

To you God entrusted His only Son;

in you Mary placed her trust;

with you Christ became man.

Blessed Joseph, to us too,

show yourself a father and guide us in the

path of life.

Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage,

and defend us from every evil.

Amen.

Palm Sunday

Next Sunday is Palm Sunday, the beginning of the Solemnity of Holy Week.

It is a time where we are invited to take a moment to reflect upon our journey

through Lent and make decisions about the year ahead. Palm Sunday commemorates the time that Jesus entered into Jerusalem for the completion of the Paschal Mystery - the time he spent alone before returning to the people.  At this celebration of Mass,

Fr Vince will wear red vestments and bless Palms or olive branches which are then kept in the home as a witness to faith in Jesus Christ and in his Paschal Victory.

School Mass
