A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last Friday was a wonderful day for our St Joey’s community as we celebrated the feast of St Joseph together. Our school was founded by the Sisters of St Joseph and it was lovely to have Sister Therese join us for Mass and morning tea. Thanks to our parents who worked hard in the canteen to feed us a delicious lunch: Clare Lee, Jenni Hird, Kate Dillon & Laura Marheine. You are amazing! The following pictures highlight the fun we had.

Tomorrow Year 3 and Year 5 students will sit a practice NAPLAN assessment. The purpose of this assessment is to check our devices and internet connection are adequate and to familiarise the students with the type of questions now available with the online format. All students should have their own headsets for this assessment. The actual tests will be in Term 2 from Tuesday 11th - 21st May. A parent information sheet is attached and I encourage all parents of students in Year 3 and Year 5 to read this information. You may also visit the NAPLAN website for further information www.nap.edu.au/naplan.

I am sure many of our school community have relatives or friends affected by the severe weather conditions in our country. Here is a short prayer I encourage families to pray together.

Lord, please be with everyone waiting to be rescued, keep them safe, and bring help to them soon. God, bless each and every person affected by the current weather and surround them with Your love and protection. Let them know there are many of us out here praying for them and their loved ones.

Have a happy and safe week

Pauline Long
