Parent Education Evening

Term 1 Wednesday 10th March 6:30pm - 8:30pm in the Gym

In 2017, we held a highly successful screening of Most Likely to Succeed. This edu-documentary is one of the best films ever made on the topic of school.

Lockleys North Primary School's Education Committee will once again be hosting a screening of this highly acclaimed edu-documentary  on Wednesday, 10th March at 6:30pm

We would like to extend an invitation to all families of LNPS students to join us. As usual COVID guidelines will be strictly followed and tickets will be limited due to these requirements.

'Most Likely to Succeed' is meaningful and necessary, and as such we encourage you all to come along to our screening session. For more information please see the link to the film's trailer.

Most Likely To Succeed is one of the best films ever done on the topic of school — both its past and its future. The film will inspire audiences with a sense of purpose and possibility, and is bringing school communities together in re-imagining what our students and teachers are capable of doing.  After seeing this film, you’ll never look at school the same way again.

Synopsis

For most of the last century, entry-level jobs were plentiful, and college was an affordable path to a fulfilling career. That world no longer exists. The feature-length documentary Most Likely to Succeed examines the history of education, revealing the growing shortcomings of our school model in todayʼs innovative world.

“This film should be a required course for all parents and educators.” Film Threat

Most Likely To Succeed points to the critical issues affecting education today and conveys the urgency for moving our school into the 21st century . . . but in an inspiring way. The film poses questions rather than attempts to shove a point of view down the throats of the audience.

A facilitated discussion will follow the screening where parents will have the opportunity to discuss raised points from the movie. LNPS Leadership , staff and the Education Committee will be present to facilitate the discussion and answer any questions.

“Students who only know how to perform well in today’s education system—get good grades and test scores, and earn degrees—will no longer be those who are most likely to succeed. Thriving in the twenty-first century will require real competencies, far more than academic credentials.”  Tony Wagner
