Wellbeing

“Enriching school culture, elevating student wellbeing, creating valuable connections and nurturing each students journey toward personal belonging.”

This quote is the vision of Our House Spirit, an organisation that we have linked up with this year. The purpose of introducing O.H.S. to Holy Family is to elevate student wellbeing by creating a stronger sense of connection and community. This is achieved through the relationships that are created across all levels of the school, with house colours being the driver.

The use of house colours is more than being in a team for school sports. Our Year 6's will be organising a number of events – school-based, house colour based, small group based: picnics and interest-based activities to name a few examples.

Last Monday Patrina and Karen, from O.H.S., spent two hours with our year 6 students, preparing them for their Leadership role and igniting some ideas for activities they can undertake within the school.

In the next couple of weeks, they will be hosting a Welcome to Holy Family and a House Colours event for our Preps. This will be followed up by another event for all students in the school. I won’t say too much, as the students are still planning out the details.

I’d like to end this newsletter item with a great mantra that the O.H.S. team began with last week. It demonstrates a number of our HEART values, especially those that foster relationships in order for students to develop a safe and rewarding school life.

“BE YOU + BE CONNECTED = BELONG.”
