Sports News

Interschool Sport

Well done to all the teams so far in competing against the other schools.  It’s a huge logistical challenge each Friday morning, but all the students and staff are now knowing the drill and getting to the buses on time.  Well done to all the teams for playing with such great sportsmanship, whether it’s a win or loss, they have been playing to the best of their ability.

This week the Blue Teams will play against Dorset and the Red Teams will be playing against Kalinda. Thank you again for the parent support, to those who have been taking the responsibility of either coaching or scoring.

Team Vic Trials

This week we are selecting students who we feel are capable of competing at an elite level to register for the Team Vic Trials. These students are only from Year 5/6. The trials will continue for the rest of the week.

Hooptime

This week, the Middle School and the Senior School will be selecting students to participate in the Hooptime Competition, which will be held later in the year. There are 3 categories – All Star, which are the Representative Players in their club, the Future stars who do play in a club and the Rookies who are just beginners. Dates will be sent out soon, as Ms Waugh & Mr Butcher in the Middle School and Ms Twining in the Senior School organise the teams.

Mountain Bike Bonanza!!

Last weekend a group of our students took to the Otway Ranges to compete in a Mountain Bike Circuit.

Otway Odyssey & Great Otway Gravel Grind is the name of the weekend, this is the 15th year it's taken place but only the 2nd for all of these students.  Saturday you can choose from 100km 50km or 30km races, all single trail mountain bike tracks so lots of concentration needed.

Jack, Cooper & Mitch all raced the 30km and were probably the youngest that did.

Mitch finishing it just on 2 1/2 hours and Jack and Cooper both just on 2 hours 40 minutes - they did such a great job.

Sunday you can back it up with another 97km, 49km or 10km but this time it's the gravel grind so they race on gravel 4WD tracks. The boys love this race because they go hard, very hard. The older boys plus Flynn, Jayden & Georgia all did the 10km on the Sunday and had an absolute ball. They finished it in just on 30 mins, the younger ones just on 40 mins and Georgia on 44mins. Mum is very proud of her Georgia’s attempt.

Thank you, Kate Gaskell, for the information above. ( Kate is the proud mum!:))

What a talented group of students from Croydon Hills. Darcy also attended but wasn’t around for the photo. Well done to all of you, we can see by the smiles on their faces that not only are the parents proud,  but the kids are very proud of their efforts and so you should be!!
