Classroom News

Junior Class - Mrs Creek

Well done everyone from F-1. All the students worked well on their folder packs for home learning. On coming back to school on Thursday, all the students were able to share a favourite activity from their pack. For the next two mornings our class are making some observations about what we can see, hear, feel and touch within the school grounds; as everyone sees things differently. This encourages all students to create more interest within their oral and written sentences through word choices. We also performed our Big Book story, ‘Grumpy Bear’ for you to see.

Middle Class - Miss Williams

What a week we have had in the 2/3 room, last Thursday we were excited to have a day off school on Friday while the teachers were away learning. We left Thursday afternoon saying see you on Monday, little did we know come Friday we would be put in a 5-day lockdown. With Monday off as well for the teachers to prepare, we have only had two days of learning so far this week. For the last two days we have written some stories using the story grammar marker, practiced our handwriting, continued with place value in maths and have worked on different types of sentences and verbs in reading. I am immensely proud of the way you have all been so adaptable of the ways in which we have needed to learn and change things this week. Well done Middles and families!

Senior Class - Miss Walker

The changes just keep coming! I’m sure everyone enjoyed having an extra long weekend after receiving the lockdown news on Friday. Unfortunately this meant our class missed out on making pancakes for everyone on Shrove Tuesday. For the last two days, the students were able to read about how Pancake Tuesday came to be and how it is celebrated in other parts of  the world. Students had opportunities to consolidate their knowledge of the past few weeks whilst at home, including more work on verbs, adverbs, prepositions and subordinate clauses. They also continued working on place value in maths.

Happy Birthday wishes to ...
