Family and Friends are warmly invited to attend Mass
Friday 18th June @ 9:15 am - Year 4 & Stage 3
On Saturday 12th, we celebrated Our Lady on the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. When an angel announced to Mary that she would conceive the Son of God, she gathered these words into a frightened heart; when Simeon announced to Mary this child God’s light and glory, her own heart filled with that light and glory.
On Friday the 11th, we celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, when we remembered the mystery of God's infinite goodness and merciful tenderness".
This year the Sacrament of First Holy Communion will take place on
Sunday, 22nd August at 12pm at St Anne’s Church Bondi Beach.
To prepare for the Sacrament we will have a program of instruction which will run for five weeks consecutively. It will be necessary for the parent/guardian to attend together
with their child for the full five weeks.
The five preparation sessions will be held on:
All sessions will start at 6:30pm in St Anne’s Parish Hall (Oakley Road entrance).
Please note that to receive First Holy Communion a child must be baptised, have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the Catholic Church and be in Year 3 or above.
The cost of the program is $35. This is to cover the cost of the workbooks, certificates, and medals for the children.
Please note that the dress code for the ceremony is as follows:
Girls: White dress, a veil (gloves optional) and dress shoes,
Boys: jacket, tie, long trousers and dress shoes.
If you would like to register your child for First Holy Communion, please email the Parish Office at: admin@bondicatholic.org.au to obtain an enrolment pack.
Everyday at noon, the students pray the Angelus
The Angelus reminds us of Mary’s YES when the Angel Gabriel visited her and passed on God’s message, asking Mary to be the mother of His son, Jesus. The Angelus directs us to Jesus’ life, his passion, the cross and looks forward to the resurrection.
The Year 6 students have been preparing for the Year 6 RE Test which will be on Wednesday 6th October (Term 4 Week 1).
