Remote Learning Edition

To all our WPS families,

I really want to say just how amazing our school community is.  In the wake of a 4th lockdown for metro Melbourne, our families, teachers, office staff and education support workers have put in a massive effort in a bid to keep the students learning remotely.  At the announcement of a lockdown last week I witnessed this school take a sharp left turn and reroute immediately towards a common goal of making the best of the situation we were faced with and working together.  There have been hiccups and teething problems but overall almost all our students are online and actively participating in their learning tasks and meetings.  This can only happen at the expense of a huge effort by our teachers and families.

As we move into next week, we will continue to look for ways to improve what we are doing online and so I ask that you reach out to your teacher via email or phone and let them know if you are struggling with a task or the whole remote learning thing.  Every family is unique and has its own set of needs and it is with that understanding that we can succeed as a school when communications between home and school are open, respectful and with the same goal of helping our students be their best both onsite and online.

I hope you all get to log off over the weekend.

Take care,

Nieta
