Writing crime - author talk and workshop

Murder, morgues and mayhem with visiting author Ellie Marney

With the generous support of the Thrive fund, the Library is collaborating with Book Club and the English faculty to host a visiting author event on 23 May.

Inspired by the ‘writing mystery’ theme for the upcoming Talkfest, we are excited to have Ellie Marney coming to speak to us about teen sleuths, the history of mystery and crime writing for a young adult audience.

Ellie’s talk and workshop on writing crime will be open to all students with no charge, but places are limited and bookings will be essential. More details on the booking process coming soon - speak to any member of library staff.

Ellie’s YA crime trilogy, the Every series, and her YA standalone, White Night, have been critically and commercially successful in Australia and overseas – her debut, Every Breath, was shortlisted for the Gold Inky Award, the Ned Kelly Award and the Sisters in Crime Davitt Award. All these books are available to borrow from the library and we have recently added two of Ellie’s new releases No limits and rom-crime Circus Hearts. Check them out!
