Year 7s enjoying their home made pizza
Year 7 & 8 have been exploring and investigating the use of yeast in a variety of products.
Year 7 made a pizza having the ability to select ingredients of choice. A very happy group of students eagerly ate pizza.
Year 8 took on the task of making Hot Cross Buns. These involved a busy time of proving, kneading and proving again. With a cross and glaze a professional batch of buns was produced by all students.
Year 10 visited NMIT to have a 3 course lunch at their restaurant- St Georges. This gave them the opportunity to observe the running and roles of the people involved in this busy hospitality establishment. Nobody went home hungry.
The following week we made a range of cupcakes such as Red Velvet, Apple Custard cupcake, Fairy Cakes, Lamington Cupcakes and Friands which would be suitable to purchase in a café.
