What's Happening

SCHOOL PHOTOS TOMORROW!

Annual school photos including sibling photos will be taken at Carnegie Primary School by Arthur Reed Photos tomorrow, Wednesday 11th November, 2020.

There is no need to return any forms or money to school before then.

Unique codes will be issued to all students on/after photo day so you can register online to view your child’s images. To register, follow the simple instructions on your child’s individualized flyer once you receive it.

When images are completed and in the webshop, all parents who have registered will be notified by SMS and email so they can then view and order photos.

To ensure you are purchasing school photos for the current year, please wait for notifications that 2020 images are online before placing orders.

NO MORE SECOND HAND UNIFORMS FOR NOW

We have been overwhelmed with second hand uniform donations. As much as we appreciate the donations, we simply can’t store anymore items. We ask parents to either hold on to the uniforms until 2021 or to donate to other families.

HIGGINS CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION

A message from Katie Allen...

I am writing to let you know about my annual Christmas card competition for primary school students in the electorate of Higgins. The winning entry becomes the covering picture for my Christmas card, which I send to colleagues and community leaders across Australia. Second and third placed entries are also printed on the back of the card.

I am hopeful that your school will find the time to participate in my Christmas card competition. The theme of the competition is ‘What I love about Christmas’.

Entries need to be submitted on the attached entry form and have the name of the student, their class and school written on each form.

If you would like these printed on your behalf, please contact my office on 03 9822 4422 or by email katie.allen.mp@aph.gov.au

Pictures can be painted or drawn. Often students glue things to their pictures (like metallic stars, pictures cut from cloth or even more creative options). While these are often the most spectacular entries, my experience is that they do not reproduce well when scanned by our printer so I would encourage your students to rely on paint or pencil.

Entries need to be returned to my office by no later than Tuesday the 17th November 2020.

The first, second and third prize winners will receive a small gift voucher, a framed copy of the printed Christmas card with their artwork as well as a few copies of the printed card to send to their friends. All participants will receive a Certification of Appreciation.

I look forward to seeing the entries from your students. If you have any questions about the competition, please contact my office on (03) 9822 4422.

Yours sincerely

 Katie Allen
