FRENCH

Village of Curemonte, Dordogne Valley

Bonjour à tous!

J'espère que vous êtes tous en pleine forme (I hope that you are all doing very well).

All Grades are starting their last French topics for the year and participating in games and activities in class to memorise the new words.

Next week in Grades 2/3, 3/4 and 5/6s, I will announce the finalists of the French competition. Four students in each class will compete in a quiz against each other.  The 4 winners (1 in each Grade) will receive a little prize at our final assembly.   The quiz will be made of vocabulary, grammar and cultural questions that were studied in class this year.

Here are the three topics that we are studying until the end of the year:

  • Prep and Prep/1: les vêtements (clothes)
  • Grades 1/2 and 2/3:les transports (transports)
  • Grades 3/4 and 5/6s: dans la classe (in the classroom)

Voici la chanson de la semaine (Here is the song of the week): 'SOS d'un terrien en détresse'.

This beautiful song was interpreted in 1978 by Daniel Balavoine, a famous French singer who tragically died six years later in a helicopter crash in Africa. It was such a huge hit that many singers, all around the world, are still making covers of this song.

Today, I am showing you two of my favourite covers, one by a young Italian singer and another one by Dimash Kudaibergen from Kazakhstan.

Passez une très bonne semaine! (Have a lovely week!)

A bientôt (Talk to you again soon),

Delphine
