Welcome Back

Well, strange times in which we live! It has been wonderful to see such happy faces every day; and that was the parents waving goodbye each morning!

Seriously, the children have settled in beautifully and are all so glad to be back at school. With staggered starting, finishing and recess times our community is managing to socially distance. The children are enjoying having the schoolgrounds with only half of the students in it at a time. In particular the younger children are loving the space to run and play.

Whilst the children were home during Term 3, we have had the courtyard painted. This was possible through the Building Fund donations that parents have made last year and this year and we thank you sincerely for that. We are in the process of installing AFL goalposts on our grassed area as well as investigating the options to raise the fence at each end to prevent the balls from disappearing! All of the renovations on our toilets have been completed and many of our windows have been replaced. All in all the school is looking better now than ever before, particularly when you are looking through the courtyard.

Thank you to so many of you for your positive and supportive comments to staff and myself. I know several teachers have mentioned to me that they feel appreciated.

Our focus this term is on the student’s mental and physical wellbeing, so I ask you to let myself, Donna or your child’s teacher know if you think your child is stressed or not coping.

Can I remind you that next Friday is a public holiday in Melbourne as is also November 3rd for Melbourne Cup Day. The school will also be closed for a pupil free day on November 2nd as staff will begin report writing on that day.
