Cocurricular Program
Book Club
A mainstay of the BSC Cocurricular Program, the BSC Book Club meets on a weekly basis to share their love of books. Not only do students discover the wide and exciting reading options on offer at BSC, they also discuss the pivotal role that books can play to educate, enlighten and entertain.
The group recently enjoyed an excursion to Dymocks in the CBD. The BSC Library regularly reviews and updates resources so the Book Club students were employed to investigate possible additions to the library stock. Each student had some money to spend on a selection of fiction for the School Library. Students also compiled a Wishlist to note additional books which could be purchased in the future.

Year 10
This was a great excursion. I loved just roaming around looking at books and being able to purchase a book for the school. It was so hard to choose, after looking at so many books.
Alice McCarthy
Year 7
It was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the excursion, however I wished that the LGBTQI section of the store was larger.
Indigo Johnson
Year 7
It was really fun to browse and look through all the books. So many books, so little time! There was such a wide range, except for the LGBTQI section which was quite small.
Aya Hocking
Year 7
I found the excursion really enjoyable and I loved looking at all the books and stationery. There are too many books to read in one short life. No complaints!
Aisha Tabit

I loved it! I thought that the excursion was great, giving us an opportunity to add a good book of our choice to the school library. It was an empowering experience and will benefit the school too.
Erdem Kurucu

The excursion was very interesting. The bookshop had a great variety and a book for everyone. I especially loved the section of graphic novels.
