VISUAL COMMUNICATION

MR JEREMY WOOD - CURRICULUM LEADER ARTS

It was about this time last year when Brahe Lorimer came to me with her pitch for her Design Brief. She was very keen to work with a real client and mentioned Homemade by Kara Jade. My wife happens to be a big fan of Kara’s candles so I was quite familiar with her products and business. As we moved closer to finalising the brief for Brahe’s Design Folio we agreed there were as an opportunity to design packaging nets and promotional material for Kara. As the months passed, I was very impressed with Brahe’s work ethic, creative thinking, and application of the design elements and principles. When the day arrived for Brahe to submit her Final Presentations and Design Folio, it was apparent Brahe had achieved something genuinely wonderful.

I often wondered if Kara was as impressed as I was. Here was this year eleven student studying Unit ¾ Visual Communication and producing quality, professional looking items for her client. Just last week, my wife shared with me Kara’s social media post and it was evident Kara felt as proud of Brahe as me. Finally, I would like to thank Kara for giving Brahe the opportunity to develop her skills. It is always rewarding to see our students seeking ways to become involved and support our local Swan Hill community.

Congratulations also for Brahe’s high score of 40.
