SPECIALISTS

Above is the Specialist timetable for this year. Sport uniforms are to be worn on P.E. days and class sport days. Our class sport day is Thursday and we do it with the whole level to allow children to work with friends in other classes.

As Term 1 and 4 are Sun Smart Terms, please make sure your child has their hat as unfortunately 'No hat means No play'. Please make sure all your child’s belongings are labelled clearly.

BIKE EDUCATION

What a fantastic week we had. Rik and the team were very pleased with the behavior and attitude of the students and at the progress in their riding skills. Thankfully we had good weather for all 4 days.

Thank you to the parents who assisted us on the ride to Ricketts Point; these events are great fun but having extra sets of eyes and hands make things go smoothly. Thank you Felicity Branson, Kate Shawcross, Anthony Morley and James Rodriguez for your time and great company.

Congratulations to our four Year 3 reporters who shared the Bike Ed experience at Assembly this morning. Great job girls.

Maths

In linking our inquiry unit to Maths and maintaining the flow to Bike Ed; the Year 4's studied maps and scale and ratios. We used google maps to plot a safe route and we attempted to work out distances. It was interesting discussing safe routes and thinking about traffic and pedestrians. It would be a worthwhile discussion with your child to discuss the route they take to school and thinking about safest alternatives etc.

Homework & Diaries

Please remember that diaries go home every night and come to school everyday.

Our recommendation is that you make sure children is doing at least 20 minutes  reading every night and recording it in their diaries; including the book they are reading and the pages read.

The diary task for the week must be completed by the Friday. If you do not understand what the task is asking or it's too hard, please don't leave it to the last minute to seek help.

Our first Homework was due in today. We understand that this is a routine that we need to establish and so are being a bit lenient this time

If your child forgot to bring it in or didn't complete it they have the weekend to catch up and PLEASE REMEMBER to bring it in on Monday to show the teacher. In future, we will have 'Homework Club' at lunchtimes; where students will be given the opportunity to complete set tasks.

If there is a feasible excuse (like my child was home sick, or had visitors for the two weeks...) please just write a note in the home work book or diary so that we are aware. Also if your child was home in Isolation, that work can come in with their homework for teachers to view.

iPADS

Please remember to send them to school each day FULLY CHARGED and ready to go. The children also need headphones at school everyday as we use them in our literacy program and incidentally most days. Please make sure they are clearly labelled.

Classroom supplies

Thank you to those who have contributed a box of tissues. Much appreciated.

Some people still require a suitable pencil case to hold their belongings. Please ensure they have a MEDIUM  sized pencil case (that fits easily into their tub) to hold them.

Parent Teacher chats

Both Ms Tench and Ms Collins have returned and advertised that they are available to do chats if you require. Please make direct contact to book a time.

Classroom Contacts

Should you wish to get in touch with your child’s teacher for any reason or you wish to make an appointment to speak with them, please contact them through email directly. If you prefer you can also use Seesaw. If you have two teachers please include both in your email. You can reach us on these addresses:
