Principal's Ponderings
The count down to holidays is on!
Students have enjoyed a number of special events over the past few weeks. Our Gorgeous Kids program finished with a special celebration day and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved. The Billy Tea Bush Band entertained us and families and students had a great time dancing at the Loch Hall. We celebrated Fathers' Day with the special men in the lives of our kids. We achieved our challenge of the Jump Rope for Heart JUMP OFF. Students gave it their best efforts at athletics and basketball competitions. Many thanks go to the staff team members who have been busy organising and running these important and worthwhile experiences for our students.
The warmer weather has seen students outside enjoying the sunshine. A group of our younger students spent time gathering up leaves into a large pile in front of the slide and then sped their way down and jumped into the leaves which led to squeals of laughter and great joy. It was delightful to watch their excitement!
Others have been busy making mud pies , playing down ball, creating games of tiggy and using equipment together. we are very lucky to have such a quirky and engaging play ground for our students to enjoy.
Our final week of term three kicks off with Footy Day. Students are encouraged to wear the colours of their favourite footy team (any code) to school. There will be a hot lunch from P&F, a parade and some fun footy activities.
Year Six students will be participating in transition activities at Korumburra Secondary College Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. This transition program assists students with familiarising themselves with secondary school and preparing them for the changes ahead.
Prep Enrolment 2020
Planning for 2020 is currently underway and I encourage families who intend on enrolling their prep child at Loch Primary School to pop into the office and complete an enrolment form to secure a place. It is very important that we know about enrolment so we can make sure we have enough classrooms and teachers in place for the start of the year.
Monday evening we are hosting an Information Session and tour for the 2020 Prep Parents.
Loch Rally Race
Our Parents & Friends' Association have been very busy organising and gathering prizes for our annual major fundraiser. This year the Loch Rally Race event promises to be great family fun! First prize of $500 is amazing and will be up for grabs! Our P&F is calling for helpers on the day to assist with activities and organisation. If you are able to help out please contact the office. Let's make this day a memorable one!

Thank you Michael's IGA
Amelia and Eliza attended the IGA cheque presentations last week and arrived back At school very excited with a cheque for $3350 for our school. Many thanks to Michael's IGA fro their support of our school and to all of our families and community members who shopped at the IGA and gave our school their points.
Parent Code of Conduct
Until recently, I have been extremely proud of the way in which our community has been respectful, compassionate and understanding towards each other. It has however come to my attention that there has been some disrespectful comments and gossip in our community. Our students are our priority at Loch Primary School and we have a variety of student needs which we strive to cater for each day. Some of these needs are academic, some are social and some are emotional. All children are unique and different and require teachers to accommodate many needs to enable learning and to build positive classrooms. Teachers, support staff and administration do their very best to meet the needs of students, to resolve any conflicts and to create a safe and respectful environment where everyone can feel they belong and can learn. Disrespectful comments and spreading gossip damages our community and affects everyone including our students. In particular, disrespectful comments about school and staff which are made in front of children are especially damaging to relationships. Parents are asked to be mindful of the conversations they have within the hearing of their children and to be please bring any concerns to the school so we can work together to resolve issues or conflicts.
