Year 6 Bendigo Excursion

Our Year 6 students headed off to Bendigo on Tuesday the 14th of May.  In Religious Education classes, students are currently looking at sacramentality.  The students visited The Great Stupa and The Chinese Museum.  Their activities were designed to enhance their curriculum studies by providing a deeper sense of the sacred and sacramentality through the study of diverse religious beliefs, in this case Buddhism.  Students were also exposed to the Vic Curriculum Intercultural Capability Strand as their work on this day raised their awareness of religious and cultural differences in the world.

Here are some great pics from the day.

Religious Education

All students are currently studying the Sacraments. We are examining the seven sacraments, their meanings and the important symbols of the Sacraments. Students will have an opportunity to present the knowledge learnt by producing slideshows, role plays or visual representations.

English

Students have been using the Author Think process whilst writing their information pieces of writing. This process ensures that the writing is of a high standard by planning, researching, organising, discussing, editing, evaluating and finally publishing.

It has been great to be able to utilise the Drama Auditorium for not only our work in English, but also PBL and R.E. This provides an alternative space to our normal learning spaces.

Year 6 Retreats

Our Year 6 students participated in their first of two R.E. Retreats for 2019, keep an eye out for some photos from this event, coming soon!
